I used to read a lot of historical fiction when I was younger but have discovered different genres as I've got older. However, this book definitely caught my eye and from reading the first few chapters I found it fairly interesting. My main problem with this was that the character list at the beginning was too lengthy and reading a book with that many characters can get confusing! On the other hand, I will say that it is quite well written and does hook you in. I guess it's just not really my thing anymore but a younger me would have thought it was brilliant! (The cover of this book is also very eye-catching so something I would pick out in a bookstore)
