I loved this book! I flew through it in about 4 days I was completely hooked. There are loads of twists and turns along the way to keep you guessing the whole time, it's anything but predictable, and the time you think you have worked it out, you haven't.

It's very clear that Mara Timon did her research for this book, it's a fictional story set in a real time and place, with her characters inhabiting it so well I found myself wondering how many were real and how many were fictitious.

There were some issues with sentence structure on occasion and I think the book could have done with maybe one more glance through for corrections as once or twice I had to re-read sentences to get what the author meant, but there was nothing really major.

At first I wasn't sure about the ending of the book, it left me feeling a bit dissatisfied but all I will say is be sure to read the Q&A at the end!

Also the section at the end with some information as to what bits of the story had deviated from historical fact were really interesting and it really showed how much the author put into researching her story.

The main character is amazing, I loved her! An SOE agent with just enough unexpected vulnerability to make her a believable and complex character, complexity I'm sure being a useful trait for an SOE agent.
