I really like reading books that are based on true events, as along with a good story, you always learn something that you didn't know. This book falls into that category as I really didn't know how much went on in Lisbon during war time.
This novel tells the story of special agent Elisabeth de Mornay, who leaving France because her cover has been blown, travels to Lisbon, where she is given a new identity and sent out to investigate some German spies. Lisbon is full of well to do people, many of whom are not really who they appear to be and she has to have her wits about her all the time to survive.
The book is very fast moving and at times the reader is left wondering if Elisabeth is going to make it out of the next situation alive. There is a little bit of a cliff hanger at the end, leaving the possibility of another book in the series!
