Elisabeth de Mornay is working as an undercover SOE operative in Paris during WWII when her cover is blown and she has to flee. With only a little help from an old woman and a bicycle she starts her hazardous journey, only to find that when she reaches her destination that her the people she’s been sent to meet have also been compromised. From then we follow Elizabeth’s journey to Lisbon, where under new orders she poses as a wealthy French Widow. I’m not going to give anymore of the plot away but I was blown away by my initial impression of this book. It is fast laces and at times I felt my heart in my mouth. I fully intend to purchase this book so that I can read it to the end.
