City of Spies by Mara Timon is a must read! I could not put this book down from the start and was instantly drawn into the story.
Lisbet/Solange is working during the war as a resistance fighter and finds herself going from France to Spain and Portugal. The story starts from the beginning and immediately has you hooked. I love war time dramas and this lived up to my expectations and definately shows the impact war has on people, both those involved and innocent people.
I like Lisbet's character as she is a strong woman who defends herself but also shows her weaknesses through love and commitments. I was shocked how Alex was killed and upset for Lisbet, but this again shows her strength.
There was a lot of characters in this book but I was able to remember who was who and keep up with the story and the people.
I was a bit disappointed with the rushed ending of the book and look forward to the sequel. I would overall recommend this book and really enjoyed it.
