Absolutely loved reading this, it’s one of those that you just want to keep reading and never end.
It’s quite hard to review without giving too much away.
The story pulls you in right from the first page.
It starts in Paris in early June 1943,a man was being followed into a cafe by two Germans, the man was a member of the French resistance but he signalled to another man and woman to say that his position had been compromised, all they could do was sit, unable to help him.
The Germans began to search other customers but both Michel and Cécile knew that she held false papers in a false part of her handbag and that could be the end.
You will need to keep up with all the various names of the lead character and everyone in the book, some fictional some true, but the front of the book has them all listed to refer to.
I was disappointed by the end as felt there were so many loose ends, hence only 4* but found there will be another book coming so hopefully will tie everything up in that, hope it doesn’t take to long!
Definitely, defiantly read this one.
