I really enjoyed this book, in fact more than I originally thought I would. When I read the preview I thought I would enjoy it but it turned out even better. I know the mixing of real people with fictional characters doesn’t go down well with some people but I generally don’t mind it at all. The book has lots of intrigue and action going on and it rather reminded me of watching one of the lovely old war films we get on the tv at weekends! It’s a first novel for Mara Timon and the characters are well drawn and generally interesting. Elizabeth is a character who has depth and it’s good to see the heroines of the wartime SOE given their chance in the spotlight. Hope this leads the way to a series of books.
