City of Spies by Mara Timon is probably one of the fastest paced spy / counter spy accounts I have ever read.

Elizabeth's trials and tribulations kept me constantly on edge as she ran across Europe in her desperate attempts to avoid capture by the Gestapo.

A bit confusing to begin with but soon all became clear as the reader adjusted to the frenetic pace of the story.

There were a few proof reader errors which needed the brain to sort out but these did not really detract from the lines of thought as regards the plots involved.

A really good read throughout and I agree with A K Turner that Casablanca meets Le Carre when it comes to the finesse of this outstanding espionage tale.

Can't wait for Paris and or Berlin.
