If you're looking for a positive and uplifting book, you aren't going to find it here. Instead, you'll find a passionate, emotive read of grief, family and cultural differences perfect for a YA audience.

I have never read a book written in prose and this was a refreshing read and I enjoyed the style. I was expecting the book to show more of the relationships between the two sisters. After not knowing of one another's existence, I was expecting they would need more time to get to know one another and experience one another's cultures. I was slightly disappointed by the ending because of this, it didn't feel like they'd had the time together to have a bond and come to terms with one another.

I feel like the author did a great job of exploring grief. She showed beautifully how it impacted each sister and how their memories of their parent felt tainted. It was beautifully heartfelt and a joy to read.
