A fiercely important story about family secrets and sisterhood. A must-read. Even though verse is not my typical medium of choice it did not hinder my enjoyment of the book too much, and if you enjoyed verse then I think you would love it even more.
The story of these sisters is so heartwarming yet heartbreaking at the same time, both have what the other wants and yet neither of them even know the other exists. It is told in such a way that is respectful and raw whilst still being so full of love. That is no easy feat, especially in this case when they feel so real.
It deals with some other difficult topics such as harassment and abuse and was an eye-opener in terms of intersectional feminism and how different women's lives can be all over the world.
I would definitely recommend and I also think it would be a great book to keep in a classroom as young people could definitely benefit from this story.
