I really enjoyed this book, I wasn't sure whether I would as it is written in verse and I haven't really read any books written in verse before. This was also my first Elizabeth Acevedo book and I will definaly check out more from her.

The story centres around two girls who live completely different lives in different countries, but share the same father who has a secret life that his daughters don't know about and they only find out about each other when he passes away when there is a plane crash.

The girls live completely different lives but are each going through struggles in their respective lives which helps them bond and become friends while grieving for a man they both felt they knew but didn't know fully as he was splitting his time living with each family at different times. So each girl is grappling with their changing feeling about their father.

I really enjoyed this as it was sad in parts but heartwarming how these girls came together in a time of great sadness and grief, and helped each other out in some dangerous times.
