I wasn’t sure if I was going to like or appreciate a book solely written in verse so I am so glad that this was the book I chose to delve into that style of writing.

The story is poignant, heartbreaking but beautiful all at the same time. The story of two daughters, strangers to one another, both coming to term with their fathers sudden death whilst also learning of each other’s existence.

The writing did take me a little while to get used to, and I’m still not sure that books written in verse are ‘for me’, but even so, I can appreciate how beautifully written it is, and how this style packs such a punch on an emotional level. Or maybe that’s just the author? I have no basis for comparison. It was done exceptionally well, I can say that much.
