This tells the story of 2 teenage girls, who live such separate and different lives, bought together by a shared tragedy, the death of their father, who dies following a plane crash. 2 girls, living in other parts of the world, sisters who weren’t were of the others existence for sixteen years of their lives. It’s based off of the true story of the crash of American Airlines Flight 587 in 2001
It is written so beautifully and poetically, I cannot fault the other writing at all. It’s written in verse, which I didn’t think I was too fond of but she does it so amazingly well, I loved it! The story deals with some pretty heavy themes, but she covers them so well, there’s death, grief, love, family, sexual assault and more. It is written in a way that is so poetic and I am eager to read more works from the author.
