I so desperately wanted to love this book, the first half was definitely not catching my attention as much as I wanted it to, I was getting confused over the Spanish in some sections but I think it’s more a reflection on my reading style than the book itself!
There’s a very powerful part that finally hooked me, when everything around you is death and destruction watching a new tiny life come into this world can remind you of the light! I think that really fits with the time we are living through now in 2020! I can’t say I would read it again but I am definitely glad I read it and I would encourage anyone to give this book a go as I think a lot of us can learn something from it! I will definitely be giving with the fire on high a read and hopefully enjoy that one more!
