I really enjoyed the way in which this book was written. The prose was so easy to read and really made the book flow.

I also really enjoyed the union of 2 sisters through grief. How the loss of their father brought them together.

The characters felt believable, they were all very well thought out, each with their own very distinct views on the situation they were facing.

This book not only tackles grief, it tackles issues such as LGBTQ+ discrimination, poverty, teenage pregnancy, gang culture, sexual assault but all in a way a young adult audience could handle. It's real, it is far from fantasy and for that it is impressive!

I did however find the story a bit lumpy and a little drawn out. I find his with a lot of YA fiction though, it really feeds in the emotions that a teenage reader would love. My younger self would have sat and read this in no time at all!
