Another beautiful book by Elizabeth Acevedo. I love the structure and the poetry and I love the representation. It was so great to see a book, not being entered entirely around a lesbian relationship, that has a lesbian relationship. And it was so beautifully written also. I loved the way the emotions were described and the ending and how it all tied together. I loved learning about the girls different backstories and the twists and turns that came with every new discovery they made. The characters are so well written to be engaging, believable, relatable and heart wrenching at the same time. It was such an incredible book, my second by Elizabeth Acevedo that I’ve read and I was definitely pleasantly surprised. I’d recommend any of her books as her writing is so unique in the style and creative and so engaging and beautiful. Read this book!
