Acevedo wrote this story in verse, which adds an interesting way to read this book. The book alternates the chapter about Camino and Yahaira, sisters that don't know about each other until their father died in an airplane crashed.
I love the way Acevedo always presents characters that are not the 'traditional', in this case, a girl from Republica Dominicana and another that lives in United States and is homosexual. It is great to see the diversity in her books and how she covers these subjects in a subtle and lovely way.
The book is not too long and the end happened as expected but it was nice to see how the sisterhood develops through the time.
It is definitely an interesting book and worth give it a try.
