I think this is a really good book that is educational and I think this book is empowering to women especially of multi-cultures and I usually do not read books like this but I think this is essential to learn about other cultures and how powerful women are powerful women at the end of the day. I loved the talk about family and how the long lost half-sisters connected from different origins and backgrounds but managed to support each other.
The mother is great starting as a presumable weak woman and meeting the funeral and helping the family but also protecting the daughter in law at the end and I think this was a very emotional moment in the book where women support women and she takes the daughter in law under her arm and it is a perfect scene.
Overall I did very much enjoy this book although this is not the type of books I usually read I would rate this book 3.5 overall.
