Okay so I LOVED this book. I was in such a reading slump before I read this and it pulled me straight out again. I thought the issues it raised were so important, and I found myself so invested in the characters of Camino and Yahaira. I thought the concept of the two girls knowing nothing of each other so interesting, and the way that Papi had been essentially living two separate lives.

I loved the way that this book was written in verse, and although I am knew to reading books in verse, I found it extremely easy to read, and found that it made the story more powerful. It has definitely inspired me to pick up more books written in verse over all.

All in all, reading Clap When You Land was the perfect way to bring myself into loving reading again, and has inspired me to purchase more of Elizabeth Acevedo's work. I can't wait to read The Poet X and With The Fire On High.
