in this novel, two sisters find out their father has died in a plane crash. they are separated by distance, camino lives in the dominican republic whilst yahaira lives in new york city, and by their father's secrets. the two girls are forced to face a new reality and realise their lives will be altered and changed due to this tragedy.
i absolutely loved this book. firstly, clap when you land is written in verse so this was my introduction to it and i am blown away. i was hesitant at first but now books in verse are always my go to if i am in a slump! acevedo explores grief, loss, forgiveness and relationships in a beautiful way. i would recommend this book to anyone! if you are hesitant on reading books in verse, PLEASE pick this one up!
