Moving, heartfelt and beautifully written in verse
This is a poetic and passionately written book and the author is clearly a very talented writer. The story follows Camino and Yahaira - two girls living in separate countries but share the same father. When their father passes away suddenly the girls discover his secret - each other.
We then go on their journey of grief and discovery.
Even though we are experiencing the raw grief of the two girls the authors has written the story soothingly. We go on a journey with both the girls and go through the loss of their father but also the realisation that their father was not quite the man they thought he was. He was a good father but he was complex and had many flaws.
The story also explores the cultural differences as the two girls are located in different countries and the feeling on not quite belonging where they are. A very moving and heartfelt read.
