'In New York City, Yahaira Rios is called to the principal's office, where her mother is waiting to tell her that her father, her hero, has died in a plane crash.'
I couldn't put this book down even for a minute, such a page-turner.

Clap When You Land. started and ended strong, but the middle was hazy. The writing was occasionally good, with a few genuinely humorous moments and some highly quotable lines. Clap When You Land. kept me interested until the end. It was a very good and interesting read. Book evoked emotion and was impossible to put down. I wish I could read Clap When You Land. again for the first time.

The plot drifted aimlessly toward a satisfying conclusion. I wish there was a sequel to the book. Some scenes and lines made me sit there and cry, or laugh, or cheer. The characters drove the plot to a satisfying conclusion and thought about how to cope with difficult situations. The characters were complicated, and deeply human, with their own strengths and weaknesses. I found it hard to put Clap When You Land down. It was fast-paced, engaging.

However, there were typographical and grammar errors. The cover design and page layout were beautiful. The text was well written and engaging. The writing style was consistent and the exposition didn't slow the plot overly much. The book characters were greatly portrayed, you could feel their emotions and diversity which was perfect.
