This was honestly one of the best books I've read in a long time! It was written so beautifully and I fell in love with all the characters right from the start. I'm not going to lie I was a little skeptical at the beginning as I wasn't sure I would get on with the way its written. I have never read a book written in verse before but I absolutely loved it.
The story is from 2 points of view, that of Camino's in the Dominican Republic and that of Yahaira's in New York City. They don't know it yet but they are connected by 1 person...their papi who dies tragically in a horrific plane crash on his way to the Dominican Republic. Separated by distance, and their fathers secrets and double life the 2 sisters are forced to face a new reality that their lives are forever altered. This a story of grief and betrayal but also love, family and forgiveness.
Every part of this book is exquisite. I felt every part of it and I will forever recommend this book. It moved me in ways I cannot explain. I am now desperate to read more of the authors writing! I was honestly blown away and wish I could read it all over again with fresh eyes!
