I could not get into this book at all, I don’t know whether it was just the style it was written in as I thought I was really going to become attached to the characters and the story because the premise was amazing.
I just felt myself skimming my way through it so I wasn’t massively interested one way or another. I really really wanted to like the story as like I said I was obsessed with the premise and the cover of the book is visually stunning so immediately picked it up when I saw it in a bookshop, but I was just profoundly disappointed. I felt like the ending was slightly predictable and the plot just didn’t ‘take off’ for me as such, apologies for the pun!
It felt like a lot was happening but at the same nothing was happening if that makes sense, I’m glad I attempted to read a book in verse as I needed to experience it to know it wasn’t for me and I hope other people read this book as well as those who like verse may adore this book!
