I really liked the plot this book has started setting up. I enjoy the dual perspective and the parallels the reader can see between the reactions of both the daughters is really interesting. I haven’t read many books which are written in verse but I enjoyed the way Acevedo has done this and I think it really suited the way this book is starting out. I think this book will do a good job dealing with grief especially within teenagers and the loss of parent(s). I am very interested in seeing the way the two daughters paths eventually cross and begin intertwine with each other’s lives. I think Acevedo has done a really good job establishing the different lives of the two girls and their individual family situations.
