Having not read any of the author's previous books, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Thankfully, I was happily surprised and enjoyed the style of writing; written in verse there is some beautiful language and structure to be found within these pages.

The story centres around two young women who find out on the death of their father that they are sisters, separated in different countries and living different lives. Interestingly, whilst these differences are highlighted, there are also similar concerns and worries which are explored.

I devoured Clap when you land in a couple of hours, the verse making it a fairly quick read, and was left wanting to find out more about the sisters and what their future might entail. This is a hopeful story, which shows how in a moment lives can be changed for the worse or better.
