Clap when you land was a different type of book. Written in verse, it breaks barriers by using the structure to push forward an additional layer of meaning, which always makes the reading experience a bit different.
Also, the book covers a wide range of topics (from secrets and infidelity to sisterhood and family, abuse of people from deprived communities, the impact that our upbringing can have on us...) which makes for a very interesting read.
However, while I thought it was a very interesting read and had a lot of potential, something in it made me fail to connect with the story as much as I wanted to, which is why I’m giving it this rating.
I’m, however, looking forward to reading her other books as I do think she has a great eye for interesting topics and stories and I feel I’d enjoy her prose a lot more!
