Such a bittersweet story.
This is the first Elizabeth Acevedo book that I read and I have already added all her other books to my wish list
I enjoyed this book very much. The story, the secrets behind it, what it all brought out, the characters, what they had to face, the outcome... Everything!
I also liked the way it's written. It's done in verse, very professionally, with a lot of care and in a way that made the reading experience a very sweet one despite the topic that it was about.
I liked both the main characters very much: Camino and Yahaira. I liked them instantly and once I got to know their story a bit more, I felt very sad for them and for the hard and complicated situation they had been put into without really knowing it.
Although I found the end a bit bittersweet and it kind of broke my heart a little, I quite liked how things turned out for the two girls.
Like I said, I will definitely be reading more of her books really soon!
