When a law firm is blackmailed after documents go missing, Corporate Lawyer Elizabeth Carlyle calls in an ex-CIA officer Valencia Walker, who solves the problems of the rich in a discreet manner.

Chris Cowley is a junior in Elizabeth's law firm and it is he who instigates the loss of the documents which are all on his mobile phone, which is mysteriously pickpocketed.

The story is fast paced as Valencia works towards eliminating the problem and investigations into Chris Cowley get underway.

We encounter corrupt lawyers, black market traders and Russian criminals along the way to resolving the problem and retrieving the missing documents.

I found most of the book really involving and the characters believable, but towards the end I was confused and found it hard to understand the how's and why's of the story.

I felt sad for Chris Cowley who got involved and paid the price for allowing the documents to go astray but couldn't warm to many, if any of the characters and the ending left me unmoved.
