The story starts with what seems like a simple pick-pocketing of a phone but turns into some sinister events involving high finance and murder. The characters are well drawn especially Valencia who has the job of outsmarting the baddies. A good story that left me confused in places trying to sort out the characters as I felt there was more going on in Valencia's life that wasn't explained. The story kicked along at a good pace with several twists and at the end I felt another chapter was needed as the story seemed to end quite abruptly. Patrick Hoffman used his private investigator knowledge to create a good read and I look forward to reading more of his novels - especially if he has Valencia as his central character.
