Elizabeth is a lawyer in New York working on an important case involving 2 powerful banks accusing each other of fraud. Then one morning a young man working for her has his phone stolen which contained documents relating to this case. This could cost the company billions of dollars.
She calls in an ex cia officer, Valencia who she has used in the past. Valencia now runs a company which helps important people solve problems secretly and not always legally.
However during the retrieval on the phone things get complicated and Elizabeth's company ends up bring blackmailed.
The young man who's phone was stolen seems to be involved somehow, also Russian gangsters and the other bank they are not representing.
The story ends up being quite complicated and I did not fully understand the last few chapters. A lot of characters are involved and it got hard to keep remembering who was who.
However I did enjoy reading this novel and the main characters though not fully likeable were well written.
Highly recommend as a good thriller that gets your brain working.
