An enjoyable thriller, set in New York, is written by a new author (to me). It’s an attention grabber from the very start of the novel and it maintained my interest throughout.

Chris Cowey, a lawyer of a prestigious law firm acting on behalf of the Calcott Bank who is caught up in an action against another bank about an unsuccessful merger.

It is a fast paced and complex thriller; Hoffman takes us on a journey, chasing the key bit of evidence which is past from hand to hand.

A story with two, strong and resourceful protagonists (Elizabeth abs Valencia) drives the action forward, leaving the reader questioning what is going on and when you think you have it figured out, you realise that you don’t. The key thing for the protagonists is to make sure that their hands are clean.

It is a well-crafted and believable thriller that will keep you ok the edge of your seat.
