I had a lot of high hopes for this book after reading the first impression of the book. I was excited to read by a male author, as I honestly do not read enough books written by males and I really liked the idea of a strong female lead.
The premise started of exciting, like a spy/action movie. There was threat, underground illegal activity, conspiracy, corruption. This was all without serious gore or anything too uncomfortable.
Unfortunately, what started off as a great book, it grew to be a slow read from about 60% of the way through. Too many characters were starting to be introduced, so I found myself confused and having to take notes to remember who was who. I felt like I was now the lead character, doing all the hard work. The story also just went from being something up my street and amazing to not my favourite. It is a shame.
