Quirky, sweet, funny and a little bit sad, I liked this book a lot.

This is a very touching story about Jubilee and Eric, two people who are really struggling and who come into each others lives at the right time. The story is told in alternating chapters from both character's points of view and I thought this worked really well. Both are very likeable characters and I couldn't help but love them.

Jubilee in particular is very likeable and I really felt for her. There are moments in her story that are a little bit heartbreaking but there's also a lot of humour too. I loved that she was just so weird, clever, funny and well read, if not particularly well adjusted.

Eric was just a clueless but very sweet and kind bloke. The relationship between him and adopted son Aja was one of the highlights of this story. He tries so hard but just seems to be constantly failing.

I did really love the relationship between Jubilee and Eric and found myself looking forward to their scenes together. It's more cute and awkward than hot and steamy but there's something very addictive about it and I found it difficult to stop reading.

This was my first book from this author but I did really like her writing style so I very much doubt it will be my last.

If I had one minor quibble it would possibly be the ending, which was just a little too sudden. I wanted more.

Overall though, I really enjoyed this and would recommend to anyone who likes a quirky and sweet romance.
