I was surprised with how much I enjoyed this as I’d read Alexandra Potter’s first book and whilst I didn’t mind it, I never bothered so seek out any others. I can see how her writing has developed and this feels like a more grown up story. I can completely empathise with Nell and her determination not to write herself off now she’s turning 40. I genuinely would like to know what happens next to her.
