The first few lines of the beginning of chapter one peaked my curiosity so much that I had to keep on reading. Once I had read about failed attempts at New Years resolutions and having collapsed onto a sofa with a family pack of cheese puffs, I knew I was going to click with the main character Nell.
The following couple of chapters explore more about Nell. Returning home to familiar surroundings after a break up, only to find everything different., married friends with kids, friends busy with work commitments and moving in different social circles, older parents.
Whilst looking for a flat and seeing the how much she would have to find for rent, Nell looks at flat sharing and meets Edward and Arthur 'the dog'. Edward has rules, but he is also away every weekend, so Nell takes the spare room.

I know there is much more to this book as we have not yet met 'Cricket'.

The awareness of surroundings and observations of Alexandra Potter are extremely detailed, making for a great read.

Love the title and the front cover say's it all. I cannot wait to read the rest.
