I wasn't immediately drawn to this book, however I'm so glad I tried it as it was such a good read. Nell is a really likeable character from the start and it is so great to go on a journey with her as she learns to love the life she has, rather than the life she thought she would have or should be having. The book is very witty and a few of the lines made me laugh out loud. There are also some really emotional bits in the story and I think most people would find something that resonates with them. I absolutely loved Cricket, what a great character. She is who I want to be when I grow up. The book has a really serious message and certainly makes you think about your own life, it explores different types of love and relationships, not just romantic love. It is all done in a really readable way and is such a page turner. I really wish we could find out how Nell is getting on in lock down. More please.
