Forty something Nell's life is a total mess.
She has gone from a happy life in California with her fiance to a broken relationship and having to move back to London tail between her legs.
With no job, totally out of money and friends who have moved on with their own lives Nell slowly starts rebuilding her own life.
Having to resort to haggling over a flat share and a reduction in rent IF she dogs it's she eventually lands a job writing obituaries.
Through work she meets the sprightly and zest for life infused Cricket.
Despite the age difference they become bosom buddies as Cricket reveals the details of her colourful life.
Trying to embrace Cricket's plucky attitude to life Nell starts a podcast, "The confessions of a forty something f*** up.
Unbelievabley her life dies a complete U turn as others avidly listen and get hooked in her frank confessions.
Her life is on the up and she can look forward to a future filled with happiness and MAYBE a bit of love along the way.
I absolutely adored this novel and was one of my best reads this year.
Love, loss, embracing the real you and how to accept change this book has it all.
Full of crack you up humour but with a touching and human element that makes you empathise with the characters.
A wonderful and really fun read.
