This is a really refreshing book to read. I just didn't want to put it down. Nell thought her life was going well She was living in America with a fiancé and a café/bookshop business. Then everything fell apart and she returned to England only to find much had changed in the ten years she'd been away.
Her single friends were now married with children, her parents were renting out her old bedroom on Airbnb and jobs and accommodation we're both hard to find. She gets a job as an obituary writer and on her first assignment meets eighty year, newly widowed Cricket. This is a turning point in her life. They strike up an unlikely friendship. Although very funny in parts this book also has a serious message.
