This is Bridget Jones meets sex in the city, funny, fast paced, twisty and entertaining.

Nell has just arrived back in the U.K. after several years living in the US with her fiancé Ethan. She had been running a bookshop cafe, but it didn’t work out and she had to come back home. The reader constantly wonders what happened to her relationship, this question and desire to know pushes the narrative on.

Then Nell meets Cricket an elderly recent widow and they form a firm friendship which benefits them both and changes both their lives.

This is a book about finding yourself when you’re lost, friendship how it changes as the years past and how we’re all looking out and thinking everyone has got it together when actually they haven’t really.

I was really sad when this novel ended, I wanted to keep hearing from Nell and her friends. Maybe we can have a follow-up Alexandra Potter and she’s not lost to us completely yet?
