I don’t usually read this genre of book, but I have to say I loved it. It was funny and really is relatable (I’m not yet 40 but I found this very true to some of my own feelings).
The story focuses on Nell. Nell has recently split from her fiancé, who she left London to be with in the USA and started her own business. Well, her business failed and so did her relationship. She comes back to London and moves into a flatshare with an OCD man called Edward. Nell has a circle of friends and her best friend Fiona has become great friends with a woman called Annabelle, making Nell jealous. This part of the story reminded me of the film Bridesmaids, lots of similarities. In the story Nell also befriends an 80 something woman whose recently last her husband, and she also starts a podcast. Nell wants to turn her life around, but life throws curve balls every once in a while.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book, there were many laugh out loud moments, and there were moments where it was quite poignant. I read this in one day, it was a real page turner, and I’m very grateful to be able to read and review. Thank you. This book will stay with me for a long time!!
