My goodness is this book funny! The character of Nell is so completely charming that the reader immediately falls in love with her. She is quirky yet relatable and faces the woes that many women have or will experience and yet the way she handles them are so effortlessly awkward the reader cannot help but laugh and enjoy the way Nell crashes through life.
The plot was easy, the perfect read for sitting out in the garden in the sunshine. It wasn't difficult to follow and sometimes that is wonderful. Of course, Nell's easy ending was not a surprise to me or my mum who read it after me but the element of a surprise ending isn't always necessary when the enjoyment factor of the book comes simply from the way it plays out.
Overall Nell and her ups and downs are a delight to read and I would recommend to anyone looking for an easy summer read for this year!
