Perfect lift me up for lockdown
At first I struggled to get into this, possibly because I was expecting it to be like your usual run of the mill ‘chick lit’ novel, I was completely wrong about that.
I laughed and cried at Nell, her mishaps, her encounters with Edward her flat mate and her time with ‘Hot Dad’.
As soon as Nell meets Cricket, an 80 year old widow an amazing friendship is made which for me was the best of the book, I loved Cricket and her zest for life.
Reading Nell’s ever changing grateful lists as the book progresses you see how far she has come from being a newly single 40+ year old.
This was the perfect lift me up novel to read during lockdown and I’m glad that I persevered with the story and didn’t give up.
