This book is definitely not in my go-to genre, but do you know, I actually really enjoyed it! It is a fun, quick read, that is perfect weekend reading!
If you need a pick me up then this book delivers! It is heart-warming and sincere. I adored Nell and Cricket, and their character development was spot on. They are both fantastic characters and it was a pleasure to ride the highs and lows of life with them. All corners of life feature here; love, loss, friendship... and all handled with a delicate touch.
The writing style was a joy to read, this lands somewhere in between contemporary and 'women's fiction' categories (though I'll admit, I'm still not quite sure why women need their own category).
Funny yet poignant, and I think this will resonate with so many readers. I am approaching 40 myself, and I found so many thoughts, feelings and events in here that chimed with me.
