When this book popped into my inbox I was so excited & requested it straight away. I love Alexandra Potter’s books and I was hoping this one wouldn’t disappoint - it didn’t. Nell is a completely relatable character - a forty something f*** up. In an instagram perfect world - Nell has no boyfriend, no home, no job and her friends are all a bit preoccupied. Returning from her perfect life in California she finds that the life she left behind has moved on without her. And so she has to find a way to fit back in - to find a job, somewhere to live, to find common ground with her old friends & to try and choose a weekend to visit her parents when her old bedroom isn’t being used as an air bnb. If you’re a fan of chick lit that isn’t sickly sweet then this is definitely for you.
