I am an avid thriller reader, they are my favourite genre of novel. This certainly did not disappoint! It was so different to any other thriller I’ve ever read.

The novel follows a few different characters after 2 of them meet on a train (the 7:45). During this encounter both ladies confess their darkest secret, one has been sleeping with her married boss, Selina has caught her husband sleeping with the nanny. A few days later, the nanny goes missing and Selena gets a text from the other lady on the train- except she didn’t give her her number. The book then follows the characters as Selina’s ‘perfect’ life falls out from beneath her.

I loved the seamless way Unger managed to interweave the lives of these characters. The plot had me hooked from the start, and by the end I didn’t want to put it down! I loved the alternative stance that this book took, it wasn’t just another murder mystery. I was constantly left guessing whether the characters were who they said they were!

I also loved how Unger highlighted that people aren’t just black and white. Through my work I have learnt that people can do bad things, but still have good within them. I loved that Unger highlighted this in her book. It was a poignant point that I think is easily missed.

I would definitely recommend this book, especially to any thriller fans!
