Although the book started a bit slow and perhaps a bit boring, it did build up a bit on the train ride and with Selena's emotions towards her husbands affair.
What I really want to find out is Martha's/Anne's significance as its clear that somethings not right at all as something sinister is clearly at play.

As for Graham's character, there's also something about him that doesn't sit well with me (not just the fact that he cheated on his wife) But I do have suspicions that he has a bigger role and part in the plot that's to come. Overall, the first 30 pages do not entail much about Martha or Selena so it is all very much ambiguous which adds on to the dark and ominous elements within the novel. Not sure if I like Selena's character, there's something dubious about her and in regards to Martha there is no doubt that her character is one of secrets and suspicions. Quite intrigued about this book and hope the plot is executed very well
