I enjoyed the plot of this book, it kept us guessing about the characters true intentions and personalities until right at the end. Sort of had a The Girl on the Train feel to it too. But whereas the Girl on the Train was a lot more forthright with the abuse, this book seemed like it was trying to play to all audiences. It mentioned abuse and people being "monsters" but never went into such gruesome details - although towards the end of the book, it did mention a few details but it wasn't too overbearing. I feel this was to appease the younger audiences.

Overall, it was a good, fast paced, interesting book. Some plot twists you saw coming, some you completely didn't - I love being shocked to my core and this book god close but didn't quite get there completely. Good for all ages (within reason) and not too Crime/Thriller-y for people who are new to the genre.
