Selena Murphy gives the impression on social media that her life with her husband and two sons is perfect. In reality it is very different. She was happy to be at home looking after her family but when her husband loses his job she reluctantly goes back to work. Despite his promises her husband neither looks for work or looks after the home and children. Selena hires a nanny who is really good with the children but as Selena discovers is having an affair with her husband. What she thinks is a chance meeting on her train home is the start of a nightmare scenario for her. She tells a stranger about the affair but soon regrets saying anything especially when her nanny goes missing. There are many secrets in this book and many twists in the plot. The story moves between the past and present to gradually build up a picture of the lives of the different characters.
