I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Despite reading the second one in the series before coming back to this one, the story flowed well and I didn't get lost. The research and attention to detail were second to none, I was so impressed with how well plotted and thought out this book is. My only minor complaint is that because the plot was so well planned out, at times it felt like reading a script without much life in it. However, that was only true for parts and overall the pace was good and I was gripped. The magic of this book is that it's the best kind of history lesson - one where you're learning so much but you don't even realise it. I'd definitely recommend this to everyone, history fanatic or not!
